Will all of the lenses from my Canon 350D fit the Canon 5D?

Question by Andrew: Will all of the lenses from my Canon 350D fit the Canon 5D?
As above, I have a canon 350D and I want to know if the lenses from it will fit the 5D.

Thanks :)
Thank you very much, it was just because there is one on sale. I have 5 lenses but only 2 are EF :/ So thank you guys I’ll have to think about whether it’s worth buying new lenses for the 5D :P

Only the EF lenses. EF-S lenses will damage your 5D

  1. FWIW, if you are interested in the 5D for wide-angles, take a look at the EF-S 10-22mm. On your 350D, it is optically similar to a 16-35mm lens on the 5D.

Otherwise, as Fhotoace indicated, only your EF lenses will work on the 5D. Whether it’s worth the upgrade is entirely up to you. The fact that my 10-22mm gives me the 35mm equivalent of a 16-35mm has made me stick with my 40D and continue trying to master core skills. May be when a “cheaper” 5D comes along, I’ll make the move to full-frame but for now, I’ll stick with what I’ve got.

  2. Absolutely. IF they are EF lenses, which I doubt. They are most likely

EF-s lenses, which are designed specifically for the cropped sensor canons such as the one you have. NOT the 5D which is a full framed sensor camera
